Dear ESOP Association Member:
The ESOP Association recently experienced a problem with its Wells Fargo lockbox banking system (addresses “PO Box 5149” and “PO Box 61549”). ESOP Association staff are currently in discussions with Wells Fargo personnel to rectify their lockbox processing issues.
In taking steps to prevent these problems from happening again, at this time, we are suspending use of the lockbox system.
Please have your accounts payable department change our address for the purposes of mailing a payment to The ESOP Association’s physical address until further notice:

With tax reform and the President’s budget provision in circulation (more information here), we wanted to share several options for staying on top of Association news.
Website – all information is posted to The ESOP Association’s website. Check the ESOP Bulletin under Advocacy and the News section on the homepage for the latest information.
ESOP Association Blog – government affairs information is posted here as it happens. There is an email subscription feature on the homepage. You’ll be notified by email when new information is posted. The RSS feed is another option for updates.
Facebook and LinkedIn – information and links to information are posted to the Association’s Facebook page and LinkedIn group for members to stay involved.
YouTube Channel – when important information is announced, additional commentary is posted to the Association’s YouTube Channel.
Email – emails to the membership will continue on important issues.
As information breaks, the Association will share information in several forms and in several places to reach members.

Member Services Information

Mr. Gelburd developed The ESOP Association endorsed Executive Liability Insurance Program in 1989. Information about the program can be found on the Association’s website here. Effective January 1, 2013, Murray Securus, the administrator of The ESOP Association’s affinity insurance program insuring over 250 ESOPs around the country and Great American Insurance Company introduced a new policy endorsement that expands the fiduciary liability insurance protection available to Association members.
The insurance policy extensions available through this endorsement are as follows:
- Will cover civil penalties under HIPPA, 502(c) of ERISA, the Pension Protection Act of 2006, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) and certain penalties under the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA
- Now covers certain expenses associated with numerous voluntary compliance resolution programs administered by the IRS, PGBC and DOL
- Will include the cost of hiring an outside trustee as part of the defense costs on a covered claim.
- Expands the definition of covered Wrongful Acts to include claims made against the insured solely by reason of their status as a settlor of a covered Plan.
- Provides contingent bodily injury coverage for claims involving the denial or delay of benefits under a Welfare Plan.
- Expands coverage to those plans that are maintained in a jurisdiction outside of the United States.
This endorsement is available in most states and can be offered to new policyholders or to current insured’s in The ESOP Association’s affinity program at the time of their next policy renewal.
These coverage extensions are being made available exclusively through Murray Securus.

As a member service, The ESOP Association provides a registry to companies who request names of those individuals willing to serve on a company’s board. This registry is a list of potential board members that are knowledgeable about and familiar with ESOPs and employee ownership.
Members of The ESOP Association can be listed free of charge in the registry. To be listed, participants must be employed at or retired from a current ESOP Association member company, or be a current member of the Association in any member category.
There is no charge for the registry if requested by a member of the Association.
