Over 30 representatives from 13 ESOP companies, together with local professional members, accepted an invitation by Alaska Rubber and Supply, Inc. to enjoy breakfast and talk about ESOPs in Anchorage on June 7, 2012.  Founded in 1980, Alaska Rubber and Supply is an employee-owned industrial supply firm specializing in hose, fittings, accessories and rubber products for a wide-variety of trade industries located in Anchorage, AK.

Employee owners from Alaska Rubber and Supply, Inc. and Northwest ESOP Chapter Officers lead attendees in discussions focusing on technical and cultural issues facing ESOP companies.  Participants quickly learned they were not alone as they shared their company and ESOP stories.

“The opportunity to put names and faces with ESOP companies in our community was invaluable,” commented Janeece Higgins, President of Alaska Rubber and Supply.  “Feedback was very positive and we hope to make this an annual event.”

The Anchorage event was the first in a series of local informal meetings planned to give ESOP companies the chance to meet and talk to each other.  Newly-elected Chapter Officers have set a goal of hosting at least one meeting in each of the Chapter’s six states in the upcoming months.

Thanks to Alaska Rubber and Supply, Inc. for sharing news of the event with The ESOP Association.
